08.10.2014 Vilnius hosted the international round table devoted to EXPO-2017 with the participation of Lithuanian and Latvian experts


Green Bridge Forum representative Andrejs Pumpurs took part in the round table discussion „EXPO 2017: Future Energy” organized by Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Lithuania and introduced participants with next Green Bridge Forum event „High Level Forum: Building the Bridge to Clean Technologies between European Union and Central Asian countries”.


The keynote speaker was the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov who briefed the participants on the preparations for the international specialized exhibition “EXPO-2017″ in Astana, according to guidelines of President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the transition of the economy to the “green way” of development.


A Kazakh diplomat stressed out that the exhibition will focus on the theme “Future Energy”. Objectives and tasks of the project are to encourage the sense of responsibility of the international community through various institutions, organizations, corporations and individuals, in order to stimulate reflection and to generate knowledge on a decisive influence, planning and controlling of energy consumption, which have the influence on the lives of the people and all living things on the planet.

General Commissioner of EXPO exhibition in Lithuania, Chief Adviser of the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment Romas Jankauskas also stressed the relevance of the theme activities, taking into account world trends towards alternative energy sources.


Representative of Latvia, President of Green Bridge Forum Andrejs Pumpurs reported on his recent trip to Astana, during which he was introduced with the preparations for the international specialized exhibition “EXPO-2017″ and he expressed confidence that Kazakhstan is at a decent level to carry out this ambitious project.
