Biological wastewater treatment plant in Iecava town, Latvia
During 2013/14 „VEGA 1” Ltd. as one of the leading Latvian companies in the design, installation and maintenance of technical communications, within cooperation with Iecava town participated in project “Development of water management services in the Iecava town”. The amount of funding for the project was 2,27 mlj. €. Within the project “VEGA 1” Ltd. designed and delivered unique SBR technology for biological wastewater treatment plant including remote controlling and monitoring equipment for SBR reactors (sequencing batch reactors) and carried out a startup and commissioning at the beginning of 2014. The delivered technology is completely designed by “VEGA 1” Ltd. and ensures the best possible treatment efficiency at current conditions.
The technology delivered and installed was designed for the nominal hydraulic load of Qn = 1’100,0 m³ / day, 7334 PE, with quite high treatment efficiency required for COD, BOD5, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and suspended solids. After the startup and commissioning of WWTP, during the monitoring of its daily work, it was measured that nominal flow and contaminant load at inflow is higher than it was assumed in design phase. In spite of this, after some adjustments of the treatment process, it was possible to reach even better treatment efficiency than it was predicted. “VEGA 1” Ltd. provided SBR technology is easy to maintain and monitor via their own designed SCADA system which makes the process manageable and adjustable at a distance.

This proves that SBR made by “VEGA 1” Ltd. ensures guaranteed result in a wide range of use not only for municipal use, but for the industrial purpose as well.
